Orange Gum Blossom painting process & technique

I created this piece using the negative painting technique, layering transparent watercolour washes while carefully preserving the light areas of the leaves and petals. Through this method, depth and texture emerge naturally. As a result, the gum blossom appears vibrant and alive, while the soft grey-blue leaves provide gentle contrast. In this way, the painting captures both energy and elegance in a natural, expressive style.
