Kathy Edwards, watercolour artist in the studio garden

My art studio is surrounded by a vegetable garden, which is always inspiring.

About Me

Hi, I’m Kathy, a self-taught watercolour artist passionate about capturing nature’s beauty and fluidity. I dreamed of becoming an artist from my early years, but societal expectations nudged me towards a different path. So, I pursued a career in naturopathy, driven by my desire to help others and my fascination with natural health and well-being.

After retiring from my naturopathic practice, I finally embraced my lifelong dream of being an artist. Painting with watercolours brings me immense joy and fulfilment. I love the technical challenge it presents, the ease of transport for my travels, and the quick-drying, low-toxicity nature of the medium.

My journey hasn’t been without doubts or setbacks. I’ve wrestled with the belief that art couldn’t be a viable career. But I’ve come to realize that creating beauty and following my passion are invaluable pursuits in themselves.

Now, in my mid-60s, I’ve found my sanctuary in my kitchen garden, which surrounds my art studio. It’s here, amidst the vibrant colours and scents of nature, that I find inspiration for my artwork.

I invite you to explore my collection of watercolour prints, digital downloads, and original artwork. Each piece infuses love, joy, and a deep connection to the natural world.

Thank you for joining me on this creative journey. Your support allows me to continue pursuing my passion and sharing my art with the world.

Warm regards, Kathy Edwards

One of the most adventurous things I’ve done is purchase a 400 year old stone house in a tiny village in rural France.

I spent the next 20 years travelling to France from Australia each year to continue with the renovation of this amazing house.

I hosted AirBnB guests there and, most excitingly, ran artist retreats in this home. I sadly sold her at the start of the lockdowns.
